Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2, 2026
1. About the service
Heyla is a trade name of [COMPANY_NAME] ("we", "us"), which operates the service. The service lets you text questions to our number and receive short answers generated with the help of artificial intelligence and public information sources. By creating an account, texting our number or buying a plan, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our SMS Terms.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States. You are responsible for the phone number you register and for all activity on your account. A plan or activation code may be used with one phone number at a time.
3. Plans, payment and refunds
The $59 plan gives access for 24 months from the date of purchase and includes [REQUESTS_INCLUDED] requests in total. A request is one question you send us; our answer, even if sent in several text messages, does not count as a separate request. Unused requests expire at the end of the plan. The plan is a one-time payment and does not renew automatically. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card number.
Refunds: you may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have used fewer than 5 requests. Email help@heyla.chat. After that, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Prepaid cards and activation codes follow the same rules and must be activated before they expire.
4. Text messages
The service delivers answers by text message, so you receive texts from us after you opt in. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. The details are in our SMS Terms at heyla.chat/sms. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. The service depends on your phone's cell or satellite coverage. We are not responsible for carrier delays, failures or lack of coverage.
5. Not an emergency service; safety
Heyla is not an emergency service. It is not a substitute for 911, a satellite messenger, an emergency beacon or contact with local authorities. In an emergency, call 911 or use your device's emergency features.
Answers are generated automatically. They may be incomplete, outdated or wrong, and they do not replace your own judgment, training, official forecasts, maps, closure notices or professional advice (medical, legal or navigation). Outdoor activities involve risk, and you are responsible for your decisions. Verify critical information, such as weather, trail and road conditions, regulations, wildlife, water and medical guidance, with official sources before you act.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the service for unlawful, harmful, harassing or deceptive purposes; send automated or bulk requests, or otherwise abuse or try to bypass limits; probe, disrupt or reverse engineer the service; or share your account or resell the service. We may suspend or end accounts that break these Terms or create cost or risk for us.
7. Limits and changes to the service
We may limit message length and request rate to keep the service reliable. We may change features or pricing for future purchases, or discontinue the service. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will refund the unused part.
8. Intellectual property
We own the service and its content, other than third-party data. You keep your rights in the questions you send. You allow us to process them to provide and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, availability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, [COMPANY_NAME], its owners, officers, employees and providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from your reliance on answers or from interruption of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow certain limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in [COURT_COUNTY] County, California.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Changes take effect when posted. For material changes we will notify you by text message or email.
